Only a couple of days remain until this year’s Taste of Carter County, and event organizers are reminding those planning to attend to get their tickets before its too late.

The 2017 Taste of Carter County will take place Thursday, Oct. 12, from 5-8 p.m. at the Tennessee College of Technology in Elizabethton. Each year the Elizabethton/Carter County Chamber of Commerce hosts the Taste of Carter County as a way to help showcase local restaurants while also raising funds to benefit a local non-profit organization.

There are still some tickets to the event available, but Chamber Director Tonya Stevens said those numbers are limited.

Tickets to the event are $20 per person and can be purchased at the Chamber of Commerce and at either location of Security Federal Bank, which is the presenting sponsor for the Taste of Carter County. Purchases can also be made online through the Chamber’s website www.elizabethtonchamber.com.

“If someone wants to purchase them online we will hold them at the door. We won’t try to mail them this close to the event,” Stevens said, adding online purchases can be made up until the day of the event.

Those wishing to purchase tickets can also do so through Isaiah 117, which was selected as the non-profit agency to receive proceeds from the event this year. Isaiah 117 House is seeking to help provide a safe and welcoming environment for children who are transitioning into foster care and helping to provide items they need during that transition.

“If tickets are still available we will be selling them at the event,” Stevens said. “We encourage them not to wait until the day of the event because we may not have them.”

A total of 13 restaurants have signed up to participate in this year’s Taste of Carter County.

“There is a good variety of things that will be available,” Stevens said. “You will certainly get your $20 worth and get your belly full.”

The restaurants taking part in the 2017 Taste of Carter County are: Aunt B’s, Bojangles, Chik-fil-A, City Market, Covered Bridge Cafe, Food City Bakery, J’s Corner, Opie’s Pizza, Pizza Hut, Shirley’s Home Cookin, Southern Restaurant, and Sweetsie Treats.
