Christian author John Pattison will speak at Milligan College on Thursday, Oct. 12, at 11 a.m. in the college’s Mary B. Auditorium located in Seeger Chapel. This event is free and open to the public.
His lecture is titled “Reports of the Church’s Death Have Been Greatly Exaggerated.” Pattison writes and speaks on neighborhood and church, community flourishing and the creative life.
“Pattison has become influential for helping start a movement questioning the ‘fast food’ version of church that has become normal in modern America,” said Brad Wallace, campus minister. “I’m excited for the Milligan community to hear Pattison discuss ways the Church can return to a more long-term, ‘slow cooker’ view of growing Christ followers through community engagement.”
Pattison is the coauthor of “Slow Church” and “Besides the Bible: 100 Books that Have, Should or Will Create Christian Culture.” His articles, essays and reviews have appeared in Books & Culture, Relevant Magazine, Sojourners and The Englewood Review of Books.
