A new restaurant will soon be opening their doors to the public right beside Citizens Bank Stadium
Dairy Queen Grill & Chill, operated by Fourteen Foods, announced the would be opened to the public on Wednesday, Sept. 27, at 6 p.m. inside the Ingles Shopping Center.
“Elizabethton is a strong community, and we’re proud to be able to bring DQ back to the area,” said Will Connell, community marketing manager for Fourteen Foods. “Everyone who remembers going to Dairy Queen has their own DQ story, and now families in the area will be able to make new memories while enjoying DQ classics like Dip Cones, Dilly Bars and Blizzards, along with several unique menu items you can’t get anywhere else.”
According to information provided by Connell, Fourteen Foods has put a heavy-emphasis on a fast-casual restaurant model to create the perfect destination for any special occasion or family outing and will serve “memorable menu items including a delicious DQ breakfast.”
Customers could also be in line for sweet treats for a full year if they show up opening day.
Connell announced that the first 100 customers to purchase a breakfast combo on opening day would receive two free blizzards per month for a year.
The location will hold 72 patrons on the inside and have an outside area that can hold 20 individuals.
Previously the home of the Sam Snead Tire Center building, demolition work took place in January by Mill Creek Construction. The company then worked with American Environmental Corporation to have the property ready for development.
The restaurant is expected to receive a bevy of traffic from people passing through downtown, individuals leaving or entering Citizens Bank Stadium and haul in families that utilize the Tweetsie Trail.
DQ is the most recent business to open up shop down the West Elk corridor downtown. Recently, the former Magic Mart building was converted to a new location for Big Lots.
