Parishioners of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church this year collected $3,250 in a Baby Bottle Campaign to benefit the Abortion Alternatives and Women’s Center/TLC located at 145 Judge Don Lewis Road.
St. Elizabeth has participated in the Baby Bottle Campaign since 2007 and during those 10 years have raised more than $28,000 for the Center to use for local clients.
This year, baby bottles were distributed on Mother’s Day and collected on Father’s Day with parishioners having placed monetary donations in the bottle during the interim.
Along with the distribution of the baby bottles, an informative flyer was inserted in the parish bulletin supplying parishioners with information on the many and various functions of the AA&WC. Services include crisis pregnancy and parenting services and the mobile vans summer food program for children who do not receive daily food when school is not in session.
The AA&WC does not receive any state or federal funding, and is strictly supported through donations from individuals, groups and churches like St. Elizabeth. Donations of new or gently used clothing and baby items are also accepted. Naturally, any volunteers, food donations, and diapers and diaper wipes for the Women’s Center clients are always welcome.
