Lynn Valley Baptist
Lynn Valley Baptist Church will have its monthly clothes closet beginning Saturday, Aug. 5, from 9 to 11 a.m.
Clothing will be available to all ages for men, women and children.
The clothes closet is held in the church annex.

Unaka Baptist
The Sunday morning worship service Aug. 6 at Unaka Baptist Church will feature Ben Cole and Josh Scalf from the Recovery Soldiers Ministry.
The service begins at 11 a.m. and all are welcome.

Redeemer Lutheran
Redeemer Lutheran Church, 234 W. F St., will have a yard sale today and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. The sale will be indoors if it rains.
The sale will include numerous items including clothing for both grownups and children, toys, etc.
East Side Free Will
East Side Free Will Baptist Church, 704 Siam Road, will have a yard sale Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. All proceeds will go toward the handicap van fund.
The Ladies Auxiliary will serve breakfast consisting of biscuits and gravy.

First United Methodist
Sunday morning’s sermon at First United Methodist Church of Elizabethton is titled “When Everyone Gets To Eat.” The scripture text is Matt 14: 13-21.
Morning worship begins at 9:55 a.m. followed by Sunday School at 11:20 a.m.
The Sunday evening Bible study will be held in the fellowship hall at 6 p.m. as will be the Wednesday evening Life Lessons series.
The 4:12 Student Ministries for Junior and Senior High Youth will meet Sunday from 5:30 to 7:15 p.m. in the 4:12 Ministries House. The Coolagers will meet Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Hut.

East Side Christian
Christian Trivette will present special singing Sunday at the morning worship service at East Side Christian Church. The service begins at 10 a.m.
East Side Christian is located at 1400 Siam Road. Charles Fitzsimmons is minister.
Grace Baptist
Grace Baptist Church, Broad Street Ext., will host DivorceCare, a weekly seminar and support group.
The group will meet in room 107 each Sunday afternoon from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., beginning Sunday, Sept. 3. DivorceCare will meet for 13 sessions continuing through November 26.
DivorceCare is a warm, caring environment led by people who understand what you are going through. You’ll be given practical information that will help you deal with the challenges of divorce. Best of all, you will gain hope for the future.
DivorceCare is sponsored by Grace Baptist Church.
DivorceCare Sessions will be led by Bruce Carter.

First Christian
Minister Michael Klaus will continue his sermon series on the Book of Esther at morning worship Sunday at First Christian Church of Elizabethton. The service will begin at 9:45 a.m.
In addition to the sermon by Minister Klaus, Tim Broyles will give the communion meditation and Holly Baker will read scripture. Special music will be Ardith Sheffield.
Sunday School classes will meet at 1 a.m.
Sunday evening, Eric Dunlap, youth minister, will preach.
The Tuesday morning prayer service led by John Smith will be at 10 a.m.
Wednesday at 6 p.m. visitation teams will go out and prayer and Bible study will be held in the sanctuary. Minister Klaus will continue his series on the book of Colossians.

Sims Hill Christian
Homecoming will be held Sunday at Sims Hill Christian Church, 206 Sims Hill Road.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. with music by the choir and preaching by former minister Ernie Depew. Depew ministered at the church from 1974-81 and again from 1990-95.
Following the service lunch will be served in the fellowship hall.
There will be no Sunday school or evening service.

Riverside Community
Pastor Hentry Byamukama and his wife, Lillian, from Uganda will minister at services August 27-29 at Riverside Community Church of Jesus.
The services will begin at 6 p.m.

CCCWF Meeting
The Carter County Christian Women’s Fellowship will have Girls Night Out this evening at First Christian Church in Elizabethton. Registration will begin at 6 p.m. with laughter to begin at 6:30 p.m.
Everyone is asked to bring their favorite salad for supper. There will be games, door prizes, a book exchange table, recipe exchange table, and lots of fun.
The group will also discuss service projects.
The meeting will take the place of the August retreat. Everyone is invited.
First Presbyterian
Pastor Dr. Brian Wyatt will preach a sermon on “Gratitude” at morning worship Sunday at First Presbyterian Church of Elizabethton. The service will begin at 11 a.m.
An Education Hour for all ages will be at 9:45 a.m.
Other opportunities for the week include meditation Wednesday at 7 p.m.; Thursdays with Jesus Reading Group at 10 a.m. and yoga Friday at 10 a.m.
First Presbyterian is located at 119 W. F St.
Fairview United Methodist
Fairview United Methodist Church will have its annual homecoming celebration Sunday, Aug. 6, starting at 10 a.m. when the new pastor, Cindy Paxton, and her family will be welcomed as they meet for worship, recollections, music and fellowship, followed by a covered dish lunch.
The church is located at 878 Highway 81N, about five miles from downtown Jonesborough.
