Jiggy Ray’s Downtown Pizzeria is gearing up for JiggyROO, an outdoor music, food and beer festival, the second installment in their four-concert series.
The free-admission concert will be taking place at the restaurant on Saturday from 6-11 p.m.
The music will be provided by Two Layne Highway, an alternative/rock group from North Carolina, and the Lauren Cole Band, a blues/rock group from Johnson City.
The restaurant is putting on the concert series in an effort to build funds for their “Raising the Dough for Education” scholarship program.
“The first [concert] was awesome,” said John Seehorn, co-owner of Jiggy Ray’s. “The music was phenomenal, the weather ended up being great. People were just happy all night long.”
At the last concert, JiggyPalooza, five seniors from each of the area high schools were each provided a $500 scholarship. These funds were raised from the sales of “Raising the Dough” discount cards.
For $20, the card allows individuals a free salad or appetizer and 20 percent off a pizza for the remainder of the 2017 year. The cards are available now for purchase.
For JiggyROO, $5 wristbands will also be available to individuals who want to partake of alcoholic beverages outdoors. These funds will also go towards the scholarship fund.
