Mary Hatley Scott

Mary Hatley Scott, 84, of Johnson City, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 19, 2017, from her residence. Mary was born in Butler, Tenn., to the late Gather and Eliza Pilk Hatley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Floyd Scott; two sisters, Kate White and Bonnie Hatley; and three brothers, Jube Hatley, Buster Hatley and Toots Hatley.
Mary was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
Those left to cherish her memory include one son, John Scott and wife Debbie of Blountville; three daughters, Ella Caudle and husband Bud of Hickory, N.C., Linda Scott and Charles Peters of Telford, Tenn., and Betty Davis and husband Don of Johnson City; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Mary Phillips and Shawn Phillips for their support and guidance.
A graveside service to honor the life of Mary Hatley Scott will be conducted at 2:15 p.m. Friday, July 21, in the Whitehead Cemetery, Cable Hollow Road, Butler, Tenn. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, from noon until 1 p.m. Friday, prior to the graveside service.
