Mrs. Hazel T. Davis, 99, formerly of Hampton, Tenn., passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017, at Hermitage Health Center, Elizabethton.
A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late John and Rosa Kemp Tolley.
Mrs. Davis retired from the Coning Department at North American Rayon Corporation. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Shields A. Davis; three sons, Terry “Poon” Davis Sr., Wayne Davis Sr. and Kenneth Grindstaff; two grandsons, Wayne Davis Jr. and Terry Davis Jr.; and a brother, Clyde Tolley.
Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Betty Maggart, Johnson City; a son, Jim Davis and wife Lisa, Hampton; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Davis, Hampton; and a niece, Wanda Hyder, Elizabethton.
A graveside service to honor the life of Mrs. Hazel T. Davis will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Ronnie Campbell officiating.
