Lynn Valley Baptist
Lynn Valley Baptist Church will have its monthly clothes closet beginning Saturday, June 3, from 9 to 11 a.m.
Clothing will be available to all ages for men, women and children.
The clothes closet is held in the church annex.

First Presbyterian
The Rev. Diana Moore will be guest speaker for the morning worship service Sunday at First Presbyterian Church of Elizabethton. The service will begin at 11 a.m.
An Education Hour for all ages is at 9:45 a.m. as is chancel choir rehearsal.
Other opportunities for the week include yoga Friday at 10 a.m. and a spaghetti dinner/bake sale Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church. Proceeds will benefit Food for the Multitude.

First Christian
The Sunday morning service at First Christian Church of Elizabethton will begin at 9:45 a.m. with Minister Michael Klaus speaking. Scripture will be read by Debbie Hertzog and the communion meditation will be given by the adult choir.
Special music will be presented by Melanie Klaus.
The evening service is at 6 p.m. and will feature Tim Shields of Hisportic Christian Mission as guest speaker.
Vacation Bible School will begin Monday with classes from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., featuring a carnival of games, food, worship, and lots of fun. There will be classes for the entire family.
John Smith will lead the Tuesday morning prayer service at 10 a.m.
The Wednesday evening service is at 6 p.m. with choir practice at 7 p.m.

Unaka Baptist
A fish fry — all you can eat — will be held this evening from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Unaka Baptist Church. The cost is $10, with all proceeds going to the building fund.
Vacation Bible School will be held June 4-7 with classes daily from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The Bible School theme is “Galactic Starveyers.” An adult class will also be provided.

Poplar Grove
Vacation Bible School will be held at Poplar Grove Baptist Church June 11-14 with classes daily from 6 to 8:30 p.m. There will be classes for children ages three through 12.
The theme of the Bible School is “Jesus: The Solid Rock.”

VBS planned
at local churches
A number of churches in the area are making preparations for Vacation Bible School.
Vacation Bible School at Oak Street Baptist Church is planned June 4-7 from 6 to 8 p.m. each evening for grades kindergarten through fifth grade. Chris Shumate is pastor.
Vacation Bible School at Butler Baptist will be June 5-9 with a registration kick-off June 3. Classes will be from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The VBS kickoff is Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. Dan Wood is pastor.
Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church will have Vacation Bible School June 5-9 with classes each evening from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The theme of the Bible School is “Into the Deep.” The Rev. Randy Johnson is pastor.
Vacation Bible School at Sinking Creek Baptist Church is June 25-30 with classes daily from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The closing ceremonies will be at 10:50 a.m. in the sanctuary July 2 with refreshments and snacks to follow in the Family Life Center. Jason Hoagland is pastor.
Vacation Bible School at Calvary Baptist Church, Elizabethton, will be June 4-8 with classes from 6:15 to 8:45 p.m. The theme of the Bible School is “Galactic Starveyors.” Dr. Ken Jordan is serving as interim pastor.

Holly Springs Free Will Baptist Church will have Vacation Bible School June 4-8.

The theme of the Bible school is “Deep Sea Discovery.” Activities will include Bible study, music, exploring the mysteries of the sea through crafts and science, and snacks.
