In a contest that was neck to neck early on, the Sullivan South Lady Rebels started rolling as they took a 14-4 Three Rivers Conference win at Happy Valley Tuesday.
In the top of one, the Lady Rebels wouldn’t waste any time as South’s Taylor McConnell got on base with a double before coming home on a wild pitch later in the inning.
The Lady Warriors, however, didn’t let the lead last long as they answered with a run in the bottom of the inning with Happy Valley’s Emily Whitaker coming home off a single from Olivia Kelly to tie things up at 1-1.
The Lady Rebels kept posting runs in the second frame as they tossed up three to jump out 4-1 before the Lady Warriors returned the favor with three runs of their own to tie things up a 4-4 heading into the third. Happy Valley’s Bailey Hardin, Kaitlyn Roberts, and Whitaker all scored in the third frame.
However, the Lady Warriors would not score the rest of the game as the Lady Rebels posted two runs in the third and four runs in both the fourth and fifth innings.
This Thursday, the Lady Warriors will make the trip over to Sullivan North.
