Robert H. Malone

Robert H. Malone, 84, of Elizabethton, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017, at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late Earl and Chessie Ann Bare Malone. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
Robert served his country during the Korean War as a member of the U.S. Army.
Mr. Malone is survived by two sons, Ronald H. Malone and Timothy R. Malone and wife, Amber; a step-son, Darrell W. Jacobs; a sister, Opal Scott; a brother-in-law, Gene Oaks; grandchildren, Emma Lou Malone and Paytonn Ann Malone, and his “adopted” grandchildren, Tiffany LeeAnn Chapman, Meagan Brook Chapman and Amber Lashae Chapman, as well as several additional children that were very special to Robert; special friends, Gary and Shelia Chapman; and his caretaker and best friend for more than 20 years, Shelby Guy, whom the family would like to extend a very special “thank you” to for the loving care she has given to Robert over the years. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
A graveside service for Mr. Malone will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, at the Mountain Home National Cemetery with Pastor Nathan Jennings officiating. Military Honors will be performed by the Carter County Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
