Lewis Harold Williams, 82, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017.
Lewis retired as a TSGT after 23 years in the U.S. Air Force. After his military career, Lewis worked in fire research and development in Civil Service at Tyndall AFB. Lewis was a longtime member and deacon at Eastside Baptist Church, Panama City.
Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his father and mother, George and Margaret Williams; three brothers, Earl, Carl and Bob Williams; and two sisters, Sandra Brock and Lena Jones.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Nell Williams; his children, David Williams (Toni) and Glenda Maberry (Gary), both of Texas, Brenda Perez (Steve) of North Carolina, Stan Strickland (Cheryl) of Suwanee, Ga., and Debbie Bevis (Jim) of Ozark, Ala.; five sisters, Carolyn Campbell, Pearl Hilton, Patricia Collins, Betty Hopson and Ivy Williams, all of Tennessee; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 17, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Russell Ward officiating. Interment with military honors offered by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard followed at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family received friends at the funeral home Friday from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m.
