Robinson leads EHS past Mo. East; Lady Cyclones fall to Hurricanes

The Elizabethton Cyclones made the hour trek to Morristown to take on the Morristown East Hurricanes in prep basketball action on Tuesday with the Lady Cyclones taking it on the chin, while the boys took a big 86-79 win.
In girls’ action, the Lady Hurricances were just too much as they dealt Coach Barry Johnson’s Lady Cyclones a 56-42 setback.
Showing the way for Elizabethton was Bailey Montgomery with 17 points followed by Haley Burleson with 10 points.
The Lady Cyclones also received six points from Cameron Koroma while Ashley Depew added four points.
Bunch led Morristown with 22 points in the contest. Moore chipped in with 15.
On the boy’s side, Michael Robinson torched the nets for 29 points to lead the Cyclones to the road victory.
Hayden Townsend painted the cotton for 18 points and Jacob Norris joined the double-digit club with 10 points.
Alex Norwood, Jacob Turner, Eric Wilson, and Adam Cornett contributed seven points apiece in the win as well for Coach Lucas Honeycutt’s Cyclones.
