One week off from Thanksgiving, the Elizabethton/Carter County Public Library received a special surprise from some artistic youngsters.
Home school and after-school art class students from Wild and Wacky Art Studio in Elizabethton presented the library with various multiple paper mache pumpkins, now on display in the facility.
“We thought this would be a fun project to do,” owner Tracy Kellerman said. “We just wanted to be able to have the students have some fun to go along with this season and we appreciate the library for putting the pumpkins on display.”
It has been a fun year so far, according to Kellerman, after the Wild and Wacky Studio opened on East Elk Avenue in January.
“Business has been picking up,” she added. “We’re a small business so everything has been through word-of-mouth or social media.”
Kellerman added the business has spots available for both of their children’s classes. The homeschool group meets every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to noon while the after-school children meet every Thursday. The price for enrollment is $25, Kellerman added, while each additional child from a family is only $5.
The art studio is also geared to other age demographics, too, Kellerman added. Along with hosting Pinterest parties, she stated that one popular item that has been the craze for women is string art.
