Cynthia (Cindy) Jo Nave

Cynthia (Cindy) Jo Nave, age 69, passed away peacefully under the care of hospice on Monday, October 17, 2016, at Heritage Hall, Big Stone Gap, VA. Cindy was born June 13, 1947 in Carter County to the late Spencer David Nave, Sr. and Margaret (Price) Nave. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Christopher Lynn Nave. Cindy attended Elizabethton High School.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Mitchell (Angie) Cornett of Johnson City, TN.;daughter, Sherrie Ellis Caldwell of Wise, VA.;grandchildren, Amelia Shields, Nathaniel Davenport, Maggie Davenport, Mitchell Cornett, Jr., and Zeke Cornett; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Carter, and soon to be born, Ezra. Cindy is survived by four brothers, Spencer David Nave, Jr. (Kay) and Tony(Kathy) Nave of Elizabethton, TN., Tom (Sherry) Nave of Gulfport, MS., and Ted Simerly (Lynda) of Maryville, TN.; two sisters, Ellen (Ginger) Shell of Kingsport, TN., and Margaret C. Hughes of Johnson City, TN. Several nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces also survive.
Cindy selflessly donated her body to science. A service to honor and celebrate the life of Cynthia Jo Nave will be conducted at 6:00 PM on Thursday, October 20, 2016, at Heritage Church of God, 775 Wood AvenueEast, Big Stone Gap, VA. Special music by Spencer D. Nave, Jr. and Spencer D. Nave, III.
