Dorothy Maxine Grandt Livengood, 90, of Carter County, passed away Friday, August 19, 2016, at Johnson City Medical Center.
Born May 26, 1926 in Plymouth, Ill., to the late Ernest C. and Olive Robinson Grandt, she had lived in Carter County since 1996.
Mrs. Livengood was a graduate of Macomb High School, Macomb, Ill. In earlier years she worked with Civil Service with the United States Navy and had served as a volunteer at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. She attended Memorial Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joshua Frank Livengood, March 14, 1996; four sisters, Eleanor, Thelma, Irene and Marjorie; and two brothers, Leland and Charles.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Carolyn Gallaher; two grandchildren, Brian Gallaher and Kathleen Seitz; two great-grandchildren, Caleb and Elizabeth Seitz; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Dorothy Maxine Grandt Livengood will be conducted at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, August 24, at Memorial Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, will be Ted Taylor, Blake Taylor, Brian Gallaher, Michael Kiser and Jess Irick.
