Next week, U.S. Sen. Bob Corker will launch a 31 county tour across the state and the Elizabethton/Carter County Chamber of Commerce is inviting the public to have lunch with the Senator when he stops in Carter County on Wednesday.
“We’re so grateful to be able to bring him to our area,” Chamber Director Tonya Stevens said. “We’re glad to provide the opportunity for our community to come out and hear what he has to say.”
As part of Corker’s visit to Carter County, the Chamber of Commerce is holding a Luncheon to allow local residents the chance to hear from the Senator. At the luncheon Corker will provide an update on his work on behalf of Tennesseans and share his perspective on how to address the major challenges facing our nation. He also will take questions from the audience.
“We encourage the community to attend with us,” Stevens said.
Corker announced his state-wide tour on Thursday. During the month of August, Corker will travel across the Volunteer State to hear from Tennesseans and share his perspective on how to address some of the major challenges facing our nation.
“One of the most enjoyable and valuable parts of my job is spending time with the people who have given me the great privilege of serving them in the United States Senate,” Corker said. “I am excited to travel across our state over the next four weeks and look forward to hearing from Tennesseans about the issues they care about most.”
The Chamber Luncheon with U.S. Sen. Bob Corker will be held on Wednesday, August 3, at 11:30 a.m. at the Tennessee College of Applied Technology, located at 426 Highway 91, Elizabethton. The cost to attend the event is $20 per person.
Because space is limited, Stevens said pre-registration is required to attend. Those wishing to attend must register by 5 p.m. on Monday, August 1. In 2012, Tennesseans overwhelmingly elected Bob Corker to his second term in the U.S. Senate, where he serves as Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and is an active member of the Banking Committee and Budget Committee.
