Cleo A. “Addie” Freeman-Arrowood

Cleo A. “Addie” Freeman-Arrowood, 64, of Pilot Mountain, N.C., formerly of Roan Mountain, passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early hours of July 25, 2016, at Pruitt Healthcare in Elkins, N.C. She was born March 14, 1952 to Jake and Delia Freeman at Banner Elk, N.C. She grew up in Roan Mountain.
Cleo attended Cloudland High School. After she left home she attended other schools and received her diploma and also attended some college. She was a CNA in her final years on the job. She lived in many different states since her first husband was in the Air Force. She worked at a variety of jobs. She attended church faithfully and was very active. She was a member of Doe River Baptist Church in Elizabethton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Joe T. Arrowood, in 2015.
Survivors include a son, Michael Heaton (Faith) of Virginia; a daughter, Candi Watson (Eddie) of Pilot Mountain, N.C.; granddaughters, Taylor, Aaron, Samantha and Alexia; a great-grandson, Ezekiel Skye; one brother, Jerry Freeman (Sherry) of Elizabethton; four sisters, Janet Dameron (Richard) of Hickory, N.C., Brenda Hitechew (V.L.) of Roan Mountain, Sandra Hoss (Robert) of Elizabethton, and Beverly Jane Hasson (Eric) of Oklahoma. A number of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.
It was her wish to be cremated. There will be a memorial service at Lower Shell Creek Christian Church on Saturday, July 30. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. with a short service following, conducted by a good friend, Herman Crumley, from Doe River Baptist Church.
The family wishes to thank all her caregivers, the nursing home, hospital and doctor offices for their care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.
