Buddy Crisp, 69, of Elizabethton, went to be with the Lord and receive his new body on Wednesday, July 20, 2016, from his residence. Buddy was born in Carter County on August 2, 1946 to Wayne Crisp, of the home, and the late Nellie Humphrey Crisp.
Buddy was a member of Valley Forge Christian Church. He enjoyed old cars, NASCAR, and attending car shows, where he had won 17 trophies. He also enjoyed fishing and going to the beach.
Those left to cherish his memory, in addition to his father, include his brother, Joel Crisp, of Elizabethton; Judy Vines, of Elizabethton, whom he thought of as a special sister; two special ladies, Sharon Wright and Chelsea Francis; and an extra special little boy, Easton Francis.
A service to honor and celebrate the life of Buddy Crisp will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 23, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton with Mr. David Seibenaler, minister, and Pastor Randy Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service, or at the residence at other times. The graveside service will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Arville McKinney, Larry McKinney, Isaiah Vines, Jack Presnell, Darrell Pierce and Bob Hyatt. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Franklin, Mike Malone, and his friends — too many to mention. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hillview Home Community Based Services and Caris Healthcare/Hospice for the love and care shown to Buddy during his illness. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.tetrickfuneralhome.com and signing the guest book.
