A Valley Forge man faces charges after police say he and another suspect robbed a Hampton residence at gunpoint last week.
Officers of the Carter County Sheriff’s Office arrested Christopher Scott Dishman, 26, of Valley Forge on Saturday on a warrant charging him with armed robbery.
On Thursday, July 13, the Carter County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation into an armed robbery that was reported at a residence on Swimming Pool Road in Hampton. The victim told officers that two assailants, one of whom was armed with a pistol, had robbed him and both had fled the area in a small silver car before officers arrived.
During the investigation, witnesses came forward and identified Dishman as one of the two assailants in the robbery, Carter County Sheriff Dexter Lunceford said.
Investigators then obtained a warrant for Dishman’s arrest and he was taken into custody early Saturday morning.
Lunceford said the investigation into the robbery is still ongoing at this time.
Dishman appeared in Carter County General Sessions Court on Monday morning where he was arraigned on the armed robbery charge.
Because Dishman was out on bond for a violation of probation charge when he allegedly committed the robbery, Judge Keith Bowers Jr. revoked Dishman’s bond on the violation of probation case and ordered that he be held without bond on the robbery charge. Bowers scheduled Dishman to return to General Sessions Court on August 26.
