The annual Summer Concert Series at Roan Mountain State park resumes this week after taking a break last weekend to celebrate the 70th annual Rhododendron Festival.
Throughout the summer a variety of singers, musicians, dancers and other performs take the stage at the Park Amphitheater to entertain the crowds.
All performances will be from 7:30-8:30 p.m. at the Park Amphitheater. In the event of bad weather, the concerts and other performances will be relocated from the amphitheater to Picnic Shelter 3, which is located next to the park campground.
Tonight’s concert will feature Sound Traveler. This eclectic-acoustic duo of Bob Tatum and his wife Patty Kunze Tatum utilizes a wide array of instruments and vocal harmonies to create feel-good music, including classic and contemporary favorites.
On Saturday, local dance troupe The Trailblazer Cloggers will perform. This high-energy dance team will keep you moving to the beat! Come enjoy this showcase of an Appalachian tradition with a modern twist.
