James “Shorty” Edward Wilson, 70, of Hickory, N.C., passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2016, at his residence.
Born July 26, 1945 in Elizabethton, Tenn., he was the son of the late Bill and Grace Wilson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Mackey Wilson.
Shorty worked at Sherrill’s Furniture for 30+ years and was a United States Army Veteran, serving overseas in Germany during the Vietnam Era.
Survivors include his daughter, Lisa Mackey Frazier and her husband Rick, and a granddaughter, Kasey-Lyn Mackey Frazier.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, at Bass-Smith Funeral Home. A brief memorial service will follow. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 222 S. Church Street, Suite 303, Charlotte, N.C. 28204.
