Roberta Nell “Bertie” Hartsook, 77, of Elizabethton, passed away Monday, June 6, 2016, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
A native of Sullivan County, she was a daughter of the late Smith and Opal Baumgardner Gentry. She had lived most of her life in Elizabethton.
Mrs. Hartsook was a homemaker. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Clarence Hartsook.
Survivors include a son, William “Tommy” Hartsook, of the home; four sisters, Peggy Hartsook, Salisbury, Md., Carol Difilippo of New York, Mary Jenkins, Bluff City, and Hazel Vandegrift, Takoma, Wash.; two brothers, Donald Shaffer, Bluff City, and Arles Shaffer of Washington; and many special nieces and nephews.
Graveside services for Roberta Nell “Bertie” Hartsook will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, June 12, in the Morning View Cemetery, Bluff City, with the Pastor James Dennett officiating. Interment will follow the service. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
