Anna Lee Oliver

Anna Lee Oliver, 92, of Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, April 29, 2016, at Hermitage Health Center. She was born in Carter County and was a daughter of the late George and Matilda Peters Taylor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Oliver, in 1975; a great-grandson, Keaton Wayne Oliver Jacobs; five sisters, Amanda Eggers, Burless Bowers, Vada Grindstaff, Lillian Wilson and Emma Taylor; and five brothers, Gilbert Taylor, Grady Taylor, Luther Taylor, Emra Taylor and Zaney Taylor.
Mrs. Oliver was a homemaker. She loved to garden and take care of her flowers and to spend time with her family, whom she loved very much. She was an avid UT fan and a member of Dungan Chapel Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Georgia Arnold and her husband, Gary, Elizabethton; her son, William Rick Oliver and his wife, Robin, Elizabethton; four granddaughters, Regina Luttrell, Sabrina McCloud, Rikki Oliver and Adina Arnold; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Gennivee Farmer, Elizabethton; and a very special friend of the family, Shirley Qusenberry. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to honor the life of Mrs. Oliver will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Eric Heaton officiating. Music will be under the direction of Brenda Taylor and Jennifer Green. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service, and at her home at other times. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, in the Ensor Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Eugene Grindstaff, Dwight Proffitt, MacArthur Grindstaff, Dawson Grindstaff, Leonard Bowers and Jeff Farmer. Honorary pallbearers will be Leslie Grindstaff, Gary Ashine, Jacob Church, Matt Neece, Kendall Hartman, Mike McCloud, Randy Taylor, Wayne Jacobs and Gary Grindstaff. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet the family at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Hermitage Health Center for the love and care shown to Mrs. Oliver and her family during her short time there.
