Terence Wayne Hill, 70, of Roan Mountain, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. During his time in California, he worked in manufacturing. In 2003, his wife, Mary, and he opened Mountain Harbour Bed and Breakfast and Hiker Hostel at 9151 Highway 19E in Roan Mountain. For the past 13 years Terry has shuttled thousands of hikers to various trailheads, to town to re-supply their food, as well as providing lodging. He was of the Catholic faith and attended St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Terry was known for his dry humor and shy, reserved personality. Often referred by hikers as “a man of few words.” His generous, caring heart personified, “still waters run deep.” May God keep Terry in his loving care.
