Police arrested a Carter County couple over the weekend following a domestic disturbance where the woman reportedly punched the man several times and he allegedly threw a cup of urine on her.
Officers of the Carter County Sheriff’s Office arrested Pamela Giebe, 46, and her boyfriend Clifford Howard, 90, both of 227 Lovers Lane, and charged each of them with one count of domestic assault.
Shortly after 4 p.m. on Saturday, CCSO Deputy Mark McClain and Deputy Samantha Maney were dispatched to Renfro Campground, located at 227 Lovers Lane, on a report of a verbal domestic argument.
When officers arrived, McClain said he spoke with Howard, who told officers that his girlfriend, who he identified as Giebe, had hit him several times in the chest and head.
“Mr. Howard is 90 years old and let Mrs. Geibe move in with him approximately 1 year ago at Renfro Campground and the couple has been back and forth to Florida several times,” McClain said.
Howard told officers he and Geibe had been drinking for most of the day and began to argue.
“Mr. Howard then advises that Mrs. Geibe began pushing him and punching him in the chest and head,” McClain said. “Mr. Howard then took a cup of his urine and threw it at her to ‘get her away from me.’”
McClain noted in his report that Howard did have some areas of redness on his chest.
Officers then spoke with Geibe, who said she and Howard had been drinking since early that morning and they began to argue.
“Mrs. Geibe then states that Mr. Howard turned toward her and ‘threw a cup of his own piss at me,’” McClain said. “Mrs. Geibe went on to explain that after the ‘cup of piss’ was thrown at her, she began hitting him and pushing him.”
McClain said there were multiple handguns located within the camper the couple lived in and both Geibe and Howard said they were afraid the other subject might use one of the firearms.
“At this point, the subjects began arguing and Mrs. Geibe admitted to punching Mr. Howard in the chest and face. Mr. Howard admitted to throwing urine at Mrs. Geibe as well as pushing her,” McClain said.
Both Howard and Geibe were arrested and transported to the Carter County Detention Center where they were later released after posting bond. Howard and Geibe are scheduled to appear in Carter County General Sessions Court on April 12.
