Missing man found, being treated at area hospital

An Elizabethton native who had been missing from Bristol, Va., for nearly two weeks has been found according to reports from his family.
Detectives with the Bristol, Va., Police Department began their search for 30-year-old Matthew Wayne Bowers on Feb. 26. He was last seen in Bristol, Va., where he had been living on Feb. 21.
The search ended on Friday.
“He has been found! Thank you for all the texts, calls, visits. All the info I can give right now,” Bowers brother Scott Bowers posted on his Facebook page on Friday afternoon. “Waiting on more info, he’s in a hospital.”
On Friday afternoon, Scott Bowers told the Elizabethton Star his brother was in an area hospital receiving treatment but he had no information on his condition other than he was alert and speaking. He said he was waiting to hear more information from their father.
Matthew Bowers was considered an “endangered” missing person by police due to the fact that he suffers from a medical condition that requires daily medication.
