Terry A. Pearce, 48, of Elizabethton, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, February 24, 2016, from his residence, following a courageous battle with cancer. Terry was a son of Pat Burton Pearce, of Elizabethton, and the late Charles E. Pearce. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his triplet brothers, an infant, Timothy Pearce, and Tommy Pearce, in 2010.
Terry had lived in Carter County most of his life and was of the Christian faith. He enjoyed attending the Elizabethton Twins baseball games, working out at the gym, crafting and working on his computer.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 25 years, Lisa Bowers Pearce, of the home; his mother, Pat Burton Pearce, of Elizabethton; a brother, Chuck Pearce and wife Teresa, of Elizabethton; a nephew, Joshua Kyker and wife Toshia, of Jonesborough; a great-nephew, Mason Kyker, of Jonesborough; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Verl and Mae Bowers, of Roan Mountain; a brother-in-law, Billy Bowers, of Roan Mountain; a niece, Breanna Franklin and husband Joey, of Roan Mountain; a great-nephew, Tristan Franklin, of Roan Mountain; a special aunt, Mary Glasstetter; and two special pet dogs, Corey and Mindy.
A service to honor the life of Terry A. Pearce will be conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday, February 27, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Mr. Terry Dugger, minister, and Rev. Kenneth Bewley officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service, or at his residence at anytime. The graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, February 28, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be coaches and staff of the Elizabethton Twins Baseball team. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton at 12:15 p.m. Sunday to go in procession. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the family, to help with final expenses. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Avalon Hospice and nurse, Mary Phillips, and his caregivers from Silver Angels, Peg Jones and Sue Combs, for all the love and care extended to the Pearce family.
