Lena A. Lewis, 87, of Norton, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2016. She was born in Butler, Tenn., on September 21, 1928 to the late Donald and Ida Finney. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney B. Lewis, and her siblings, D.C. Finney, Billy Finney, Bobby Finney, Bonnie Whitehead and Shelby Davenport.
Lena had several jobs over her lifetime, including working for Goodwill, Babcock and Wilcox, and United Disability Services. Her favorite job was taking care of her home and raising her family. She was a strong willed lady who was known as “Ma” to all her sons’ friends. She loved collecting knick knacks.
She will be deeply missed by her sons, Randy (Niki Ryan) Lewis and Kenny (Debbie) Lewis; sisters, Shirley Guy and Peggy Davenport; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Lewis, Jacob Lewis, Nikki Lewis, Chelsea Lewis, Chasity (Grant) Webel, Kenny Lewis Jr. and Shawn (Justina) Gonzalez; and great-grandchildren, Taylor, Asher, Bridgette, Austin and Haley.
A service to honor the life of Mrs. Lena A. Lewis will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, February 22, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Pastor Brian Cable and Pastor Charles Cable officiating. Music will be provided by Greta Odom. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, prior to the service. The graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 23, in the Whitehead Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the March of Dimes, 2700 S.
