A Stoney Creek home between Blue Springs Road and Dry Hollow Road was destroyed Tuesday after a fire started from an undetermined cause in the rear of the home.
“We got it knocked down fairly quickly,” said Stoney Creek Fire Chief Jason Shaw. “It ended up getting in the walls and attic space, and it ruined everything. It’s still standing but everything in it was ruined.”
He said no one was home at the time of the fire and it must have been smoking pretty heavily for someone to report it.
Stoney Creek, Watauga and Hampton Volunteer Fire Departments responded immediately, but were not able to ascertain the cause of the fire.
