Cathy J. “C.J.” Aaron, 66, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went to be with her Lord, Monday, February 8, 2016, from the Johnson City Medical Center after an extended illness.
A native of Elizabethton, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Gordon Welch Sr. and Rose Little Welch. Several years ago, she was the director of advertising for the Elizabethton Star. She never had children but adopted all that she ever met. “C. J.” graduated from Elizabethton High School with the Class of 1967 and attended E.T.S.U. She attended Rivers Edge Church, Elizabethton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Tyler Welch, and a nephew, Bobby Hartnett.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 28 years, Alfred “Al” Aaron, of the home; two sisters and their husbands, Betty and Dr. Jim Wylie and Brenda and Bob Hartnett, all of Atlanta, Ga.; a brother and his wife, Gordon Welch Jr. and Margaret Welch, Elizabethton; and a sister-in-law, Jane Welch, Johnson City. Several nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Ed Wylie, also survive.
A service to honor the life of Cathy J. “C.J.” Aaron will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 13, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Pastor Ricky Jones officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 until 2 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service, or at the residence at other times. The graveside service and interment will follow the funeral service at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Steven Collins, Ed Wylie, Todd Welch, Brian Taylor, Kenny Welch, Jeff Welch, Pat Hartnett and Michael Hartnett. Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Wylie and Dr. Jim Wylie.
