Michael Ray Gilbert

Michael Ray Gilbert, 57, of Butler, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2016, at Bristol Regional Hospital after an extended illness.
Michael was a native of Carter County. He was a brick and block mason.
Michael loved to ride and work with his horses. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Patricia Mercer Gilbert; a daughter and son-in-law, Danielle and Jeffrey Lynch, Ripley, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Abigail and Braxton Lynch, both of Ripley, Tenn.; his parents, L.D. and Barbara Buser Gilbert, Butler; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Leonard Gilbert Jr. and wife Gloria, Mountain City, and James and Robin Gilbert, Butler; one sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Allen Cooper, Elizabethton; and several uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Michael Ray Gilbert will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 13, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Gary Bowman and Mr. Terry Dugger officiating. Interment will be in the Elk Mills Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeffrey Lynch, Chad Stout, Mike Duffield, Leonard Gilbert Jr., Mike McKinney, Jerry Carr, Keith Carr, Tony Stout, Raymond Campbell, Rick Campbell and L.D. Miller.
