Kennith H. Hensley Sr.

Kennith H. Hensley Sr., 74, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at his residence following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late Thomas Roosevelt and Burlia Jane Blevins Hensley.
Kennith was a carpenter and was of the Baptist Faith. He loved to read his Bible. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Kennith loved to fish and hunt and enjoyed his workshop.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Norma Faye Hensley; a nephew, Bill Church; and several uncles, aunts and cousins.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Anna Hensley, of the home; three children, Kennith H. Hensley Jr., Elizabethton, Julie A. Edens and husband Rusty, Elizabethton, and Lora J. Livingston and husband Roger, Hampton; seven grandchildren, Joshua Hensley, Brittney Hensley, Ciera Bowers, Jayden Hensley, Jacob Baker, Kara Short and Alexius Clark; and two sisters, Brenda Milhorn, Chuckey, and Jackie Nidiffer, Johnson City. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
A graveside service to honor the life of Kennith H. Hensley Sr. will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday, December 18, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Music will be under the direction of Mr. Jon Shell, bagpiper. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Hicks, Roger Livingston, Rusty Edens, Ray Woodby, Carrol Livingston and Roy Livingston. Military Honors will be accorded by the Carter County Honor Guard. Those attending the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Friday to go in procession to the cemetery.
