Ida Mae “Pat” Bowers, 89, of Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Jonah R. and Bessie Frazier Hensley.
Pat was a 1944 graduate of Elizabethton High School. She was a retired secretary with the City of Elizabethton and a member of First Free Will Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chris Bowers, and a sister, Wilma Oxendine.
Survivors include her son, David Eugene Estep, Elizabethton; a granddaughter, Christy Lynn Estep, Elizabethton; a great-granddaughter, Kathryn Elizabeth Hartman, Elizabethton; a sister, whom she had made her home with for several years, Sarah Lewis; several cousins; and her special friends, Jeff and Joyce Henson, Johnnie Fair, Brenda Lloyd, Sandra Boyd, Chris and Teresa Range and family.
It was her wish to be cremated and a graveside service held at a later date.
Memorial Funeral Chapel is serving the Bowers family.
