Bea Boyd

Bea Boyd, 85, Johnson City, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2015, at Johnson City Medical Center.
She was a Carter County native and a daughter of the late Jacob and Lola Mosley Byrd.
Mrs. Boyd loved her work and all children. She was a pediatric nurse, starting at Bowman clinic, later working at Memorial Hospital, and worked private duty for the rest of her career. She was a member at Fairhaven United Methodist Church and was a part of the church choir.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Boyd Jr.; two brothers, Horace Byrd and Jack Byrd; and three sisters, Ora Dempsey, Merrell Armstrong and Becky Dugger.
Survivors include two sons, David Boyd, and his wife Susan, and Phillip Boyd; one daughter, Ora Ann Riddle, and her husband William; five grandchildren, Lance, Jordan, Jamie, David and Ashley; two great-grandchildren, Brandon and Vera; and one sister, Kate Teague.
The family of Bea Boyd will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday, December 13, at Morris-Baker. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. Monday to go in procession to Roselawn Memorial Park for the 11 a.m. graveside services.
