Douglas Lee “Pete” Nave

Douglas Lee “Pete” Nave, 65, 129 Potterack Road, Hampton, passed away Monday, November 16, 2015, at James H. Quillen VA Medical Center.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late George Edward Nave Sr. and Doris Shaccffran Nave.
Pete was a graduate of Hampton High School. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He lived in Detroit for several years where he was employed by Ford Motor Company. On his return he was employed by Snap-on Tools.
He was a member of Rittertown Baptist Church. He was an avid Bulldog Football and Basketball fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, George Nave Jr.
Survivors include a son, Dustin Nave, Hampton; a brother, Ikis Nave and wife Peggy, Elizabethton; his ex-wife, Donna Nave; his sister-in-law, Brenda Nave; and Pete’s little four-legged friend, Pedie.
Funeral services for Douglas Lee “Pete” Nave will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 21, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Dwayne Calhoun officiating. Interment will follow in the Rittertown Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Tim Lyons, Johnny Glover, Jeff Gobble, Bucky Greenwell, Foster Miller, John Blackburn, Boyd Smith and Richard Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Hampton Bulldog Football and Basketball Teams. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff of Ivy Hall Nursing Home. The family will receive friends from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at 129 Potterack Road, Hampton, or at the residence of his brother, Ikis, 385 Coal Chute Road, Elizabethton.
