Elva May Simons

Elva May Simons, 65, of Elizabethton, Tenn., was carried very sweetly, softly and gently by angels into paradise on October 28, 2015, at 12:18 p.m.
Mrs. Simons was a faithful member of Stoney Creek Church of Christ. She loved God, her family and all her friends. Her good Christian influence reached many. She will live forever in Glory and in our hearts.
She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Wesley Simons; her daughter, Karen Blevins and her husband, Travis; her granddaughter, Brandi Turner and her husband, James; two sisters, Betty Craft and her husband, Eddy, and Nancy Cook; a son-in-law, Tim Phillips; her mother-in-law, Billie McGraw; and a host of friends and loved ones. Her very special little puppy, Ellie, also survives.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Leon and Gladys Cook; a sister, Mary Ann Gregory; and her daughter, whom she loved with all her heart, Candy Phillips.
The funeral service for Mrs. Simons will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 31, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Chapel of Peace, Elizabethton, with Mr. Jeff Johnson officiating. Congregational singing will be led by Mr. Michael Jordan. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow the funeral service in the Garland Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Logan, Dillon and Brian Craft, Ryan and Michael Manuel and James Turner. Honorary pallbearers will be all the members of the Stoney Creek Church of Christ and the students of the Tri-City School of Preaching. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the Johnson City Medical Center. We also want to give a special thanks to all the members of the various congregations of the Church of Christ for all they have done. We could not have made it without you.
