The Elizabethton Police Department and the Carter County Sheriff’s Office are investigating an incident reported early yesterday morning.
The incident began around 8 a.m. yesterday morning, as a bank employee of Northeast Community Credit union was approached at her home and coerced by unknown subject(s) to assist them in taking money from NECCU.
The employee, and possibly family members, were threatened with violence if she didn’t comply.
No one was injured during the incident and the robbery did not occur.
The FBI was notified and they are assisting with the investigation. The matter is still under investigation.
