James “Kevin” Godfrey

James “Kevin” Godfrey, 60, of Johnson City, passed away Monday, October 12, 2015, at Franklin Woods Hospital after a brief illness. He was a native of Washington County.
Kevin was an employee of A.P.I. Construction Company and a former employee of Kennametal. He attended Rock Fellowship and Sinking Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include the love of his life for 32 years, Janice White Godfrey; a daughter, Jamie Kristin Godfrey; his parents, father, James Clyde Godfrey, mother, Betty Johnson Crain and husband Lawrence Crain; his grandchildren, Avery, 5 years old, and Kamilla, 5 months old; his sisters, Twyla and Danny Willis, Johnson City, Rebecca and Mitchell Miller, Elizabethton, and Nikki and Ken Rose, Craigsville, W. Va.; two brothers, Bryan and Cheryl Godfrey and Doug Godfrey; a very special aunt, JoAnn Bowman; a very special uncle, Craig Johnson; and several nieces and nephews including a special niece, April Rodriguez.
Funeral services for James “Kevin” Godfrey will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, October 15, at Skyline Heights Baptist Church, Johnson City, with the Rev. Ron Owens and the Rev. Donald Page officiating. Music will be provided by Elmer Rodriguez. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the doctors and nurses on the 3rd Floor at Franklin Woods Hospital and Virginia Stover. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday at the Skyline Heights Baptist Church. Friends may also visit with the family at the home of Betty and Lawrence Crain, Johnson City.
