EHS stormed the courts Saturday during the Lady Cyclones Invitational inside John Treadway Gym.
’Betsy, after going 5-2 on the day, was able to secure a second-place finish right behind the South Greene Lady Devils.
During the nine-team tournament, the Lady Cyclones grabbed a third-place seed heading into tournament play, after defeating Providence Academy, West Greene, and Volunteer, while falling to South Greene during pool play.
Once in the tournament, EHS was able to defeat the Unicoi Blue Devil’s in the first match, before eliminating Daniel Boone in the semifinals. However, South Greene got the best of the Lady Cyclones in the championship match.
EHS’ attack was spearheaded by stat-leader Chloe Hambrick, who finished the night with 32 kills, 69 digs, and 11 aces.
“Chloe definitely had a big day for us,” EHS coach Leslee Bradley said. “The bigger the point, the bigger she played.”
The second-place finished was well welcomed by the Lady Cyclones, who have dropped the first two matches of the season to Greenville (1-3) and Sullivan North (1-3).
“Even though those were losses, we learned from them,” Bradley said. “I feel like we took what we have learned and were able to apply it Saturday.
EHS will hit the court again today as they host Sullivan South.
