Police are investigating a break-in at a local business, but it is not yet known what, if anything, was stolen.
On Friday evening, officers of the Carter County Sheriff’s Department took a report of a break-in at Stoney Creek Storage, 860 Highway 91.
The business’s owner, David Bass, told officers he found the locks missing from several storage units and said items may be missing from those units. Neither Bass nor the officers were able to tell what, if anything, had been taken. When he filed the police report, Bass was still attempting to contact the renters of the storage units to have them come and check their property.
While at the business, Carter County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. David Caldwell took a look around the property and found a fence post that had been moved, creating enough space for someone to slip through the fence and have access to the storage units.
Anyone who has any information about the break-in at Stoney Creek Storage is asked to contact the Carter County Sheriff’s Department at 423-542-1845.
