Mary Etta Willis

Mary Etta Willis, 70, 112 Delta Street, Gray, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2015, at Wilcox Hall, Kingsport.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late T.A. and Madge Sue Thompson Caldwell.
Mary was a 1962 graduate of Hampton High School. She had lived in Gray for several years. Mary was a member of Valley Forge Christian Church. She loved to sew, crochet and ride in a mule wagon.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William “Bill” Caldwell, and a sister, Nona Prescova.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Dana Willis; four sons and daughters-in-law, Dana Andrew “Andy” and Malina Willis, Blountville, Robert Lee and Lindsey Willis, Gray, Jimmy Dale and Delores Willis, Telford, and Charles Joseph and Tina Willis, Hampton; seven grandchildren, Justin, Jesse, Susan, Hannah, Brittany, Ella and Avery Willis; and two brothers, Calvin C. Caldwell, Elizabethton, and Richard Lee Caldwell, Katy, Texas.
Funeral services for Mrs. Willis will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Danny Willis officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 23, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be sons and grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Arnold M. Willis, Calvin Caldwell and Richard Caldwell. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at the residence of a son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Delores Willis, 639 McInturff Road, Telford.
