Grace McElyea

Grace “Toni” McElyea, age 87, of Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, March 21, 2015, from her residence. Mrs. McElyea was a native of Carter County and was a daughter of the late Dewey and Nelia Nidiffer Livingston. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert McElyea; two brothers, Elbert Estep and George Livingston; and five sisters, Pearl Taylor, Ethel Cook, Margaret Zematis, Ann Speer and Mattie Russell.
Mrs. McElyea was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She loved her cats, NASCAR, knitting, crocheting and gardening.
Survivors include her nephew, Edwin Taylor, Elizabethton; and two nieces, Peggy Taylor Dykes, Johnson City and Sue Maxwell, Elizabethton.
A graveside service to honor the life of Mrs. Grace “Toni” McElyea will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at Happy Valley Memorial Park, with the family meeting in the Mausoleum. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at Happy Valley Memorial Park at 12:50 PM on Wednesday.
