Barbara Curtis Davis, 80, of Elizabethton, passed away Friday, March 20, 2015, at Hillview Health Center.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Walter W. and Pauline Morrell Curtis.
Barbara was a graduate of Elizabethton High School, Class of 1952, and attended East Tennessee State College. She was retired from Hampton Elementary School as a special needs teacher. She was associated with her husband in the operation of Ed Davis Enterprises. She was a member of Siam Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Davis, in 1985, and two brothers, Eugene R. Curtis and John W. Curtis.
Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Andy Hood, Elizabethton, with whom she had made her home for the past few years; a brother, Carroll E. Curtis, Orlando, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Davis will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, March 23, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jack Roddy and the Rev. Jacob Guinn officiating. Music will be provided by Mr. Bill Anderson. Interment will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Doug Bailey, Mick Oliver, Bill Kyte, Bill Hamilton, Henry Allen, Carroll Montgomery, Gale Hood and Leon Hood. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Nave, Doug Nave, Ralph Wilson, Mike Robinson, Richard Ahrens, Pete Scalf, John Curtis Jr., Tim Curtis, Sam Ward, Luther McKeehan and her church family. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at the residence of Ruth and Andy Hood, Elizabethton.
