The Elizabethton/Carter County United Way is partnering with several local restaurants this week to give individuals the chance to “Dine United.”
Through the fundraiser, restaurants will donate a portion of their sales on specific days to the United Way.
“This is a small way to make a big impact,” ECCUW Director Cheri Tinney said. “Anything you eat at these restaurants on the day they participate, a portion of that will be donated to the United Way.”
The fundraiser started Monday and continues until March 8. Participating restaurants are:
– Bojangle’s, 4-8 p.m. today, dine-in only;
– Zaxby’s, 5-8 p.m. Wednesday;
– Creeker’s, Thursday;
– Lonestar, Friday;
– Dino’s and Chick-fil-A, 1-4 p.m. Saturday; and
– Primos, 4-9 p.m. March 8.
Diners just need to mention the United Way when completing their transactions and the agency will receive a portion of the purchase price.
“It is an easy way for people to help,” Tinney said. “They may not be able to make a contribution to the United Way, but they do have to eat. They can take their family out and give back to the community at the same time. The money we get from those meals will help feed another family and will help keep the lights on for other clients.”
All money collected through the fundraiser will go toward the United Way’s 2015 campaign.
The ECCUW serves nine agencies: the Boys & Girls Club of Elizabethton, the Boy Scouts Seqouyah Council, Adult Day Services, Elizabethton Senior Citizens Center, Personal Support Services, American Red Cross, Assistance Resource Ministries, Contact Ministries and the Elizabethton Neighborhood Service Center.
