Lloyd Issace Carden Jr.

Lloyd Issace Carden Jr., 59, of 608 Locust Street, Lot 12, Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital, following an extended illness.
Lloyd was a native of Carter County and a son of the late Lloyd Issace Carden Sr. and Ester Lee Crowe Carden. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a niece, Carrie Ann Campbell; his paternal grandparents, Charles and Maggie Carden; his maternal grandparents, Frank and Nancy Crowe; and his mother-in-law, Gertrude Johnson.
Mr. Carden had worked as a factory worker for numerous furniture companies. He was of the Free Will Baptist faith and was an avid Tennessee Vols fan.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 34 years, Norma Jean Johnson Carden, of the home; his beloved daughter, Nancy Lee Carden, of the home; his faithful companion and therapy dog, “Pee Wee”; a brother, Kenneth Carden and wife Patti, Elizabethton; two sisters, Margaret Campbell and husband Charlie, Elizabethton, and Mary Pierce and husband Ronald, Jacksonville, Fla.; his foster father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jerry and Martha Carmichael, Dugger, Ind.; his brothers-in-law, Ronnie Johnson and wife Elsie, and Kenneth Johnson, all of Roan Mountain; and his foster sisters-in-law, Sharon, Valarie and Allison, all of Indiana. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A memorial service to honor the life of Lloyd Issace Carden Jr. will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, February 23, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Ronnie Campbell and Rev. Jerry Carmichael officiating. Mr. Carden’s daughter, Nancy Lee, will read a poem in his memory. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 12:30 until 2 p.m. Monday, prior to the service, or at the residence of a sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Charlie Campbell, 2800 Bob Little Road, Elizabethton, Tenn., at anytime. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff and associates of Life Care Center of Elizabethton and Sycamore Shoals Hospital, Dr. Khan, Dr. Shobha, D.H. Hampton, Joe Stout and Joel Oliver. The family will hold a private disposition at a later date. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the charity of your choice, to honor the memory of Mr. Carden.
