A man pleaded guilty in connection with two 2014 convenience store robberies in Carter County and received a 20-year sentence Friday.
Aaron Earl Wallace pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated robbery in Carter County Criminal Court Monday. The two robberies occurred Jan. 10, 2014, and Jan. 14, 2014, when Wallace robbed two different store clerks at the same convenience store on Milligan Highway.
On both occasions, Wallace wore a white cloth to conceal his face and pointed at the clerks with an object which was also wrapped in a white cloth. Both times he took money from the store.
Witnesses to the Jan. 14, 2014, robbery described the suspect and the vehicle he was driving. Officers from he Johnson City Police Department found the vehicle shortly after the robbery and located items which were said to have been used in both robberies. Johnson City officers then found Wallace, who was wearing clothing matching the description given by witnesses of the second robbery.
Wallace was sentenced to 20 years in prison and according to the District Attorney General’s Office he will have to serve a minimum of 70 percent of that time before he would become eligible for parole. According to the DA’s office, Wallace has previously been to prison for multiple burglary- and theft-related offenses.
