Bobby Lee Morris Sr., 43, of Elizabethton, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
Bobby was a native of Carter County and a 1990 graduate of Happy Valley High School. He was an employee of Big John’s Closeouts.
Bobby was a member of Harmony Baptist Church but attended Powder Branch Baptist Church. His hobby was hunting and riding horses.
He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Morris, in 1999.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Crystal Hollyfield Morris; a son, Bobby Lee Morris Jr., of the home; his mother, Imogene Tester Morris, Elizabethton; a brother, Jimmy Morris, Elizabethton; a sister, Lori Hilbert and husband Jerry, Elizabethton; and two nieces, Brittany Hilbert and Amber Oxendine and husband T.J. Several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
The funeral service for Mr. Morris was conducted at 8 p.m. Friday, December 26, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. David Burrell and the Rev. Gene Cornett officiating. The graveside service and interment will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 27, in the Hyder Cemetery (Tester Road). Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 12:20 p.m. Saturday, will be Bobby Lee Morris Jr., David Timbs, Ozzy Thompson, Jimmy Morris, Travis McNeal, Jonathan Poarch, Jerry Bowers and Jeremy Hazel. Honorary pallbearers will be other employees of Big John’s Closeouts, Josh Hubbard, Lee Hubbard, Ora Hyder and David Hyder. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at the residence. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 12:20 p.m. Saturday to go to the cemetery.
