A local business is asking for the public’s help with information that could lead to the apprehension of two men who broke into the store early Monday morning.
Jonathan Kirkland said his business, 1-A Pawn, was burglarized at 1:24 a.m. Monday, when two men broke a window to the store, entered the business and then left with four chainsaws and a leaf blower.
Security cameras captured the burglary on video, Kirkland said. The two burglars appear to be young men, possibly in their late teens or 20s, he said.
“They were really spry,” Kirkland said. “They were in and out in around 30 seconds.”
One of the culprits was around 5 feet, 6 inches tall and had a black bandana mask around his face, he said. The other man was taller, around 6 feet, and was slender.
The suspects left on foot and traveled toward McArthur Street, Kirkland said, adding that a black bandana was found at the edge of the shopping center on the McArthur Street side.
“What I am hoping is that someone was up and saw something that can help us find these two,” Kirkland said.
Items that were listed as stolen were an Echo CS500p chainsaw with serial number C193122005282; a Stihl chainsaw with serial number 298095655; a Stihl MS 290 Farm Boss chainsaw with serial number 11279673406CS; a Husqvarna 450 chainsaw with serial number 1301881 and a Crafstman 25cc leaf blower with serial number 530055811.
Kirkland is offering a $500 reward upon conviction of a suspect for information in the burglary.
Kirkland asked anyone with information to call 297-1233 or email jk1apawn@hotmail.com. Tips can also be submitted to the Elizabethton Police Department at 542-7574 or 547-6250.
