Lottie Beulah Winchester, 94, of Oakwood, Va., passed away Saturday, December 13, 2014, at her daughter’s house in Elizabethton, Tenn., surrounded by her family. Lottie was born October 15, 1920 in Oakwood, Va. She was the daughter of late Paris and Eliza Harmon Meadows. She was of the Christian Faith.
Lottie was a lifetime homemaker. She enjoyed, cooking, quilting, gardening, sewing and most of all taking care of her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank “Todge” Winchester Jr.; a daughter, Yohallo Short; a son, Kenny Winchester; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Lottie is survived by two daughters, Sandra Cox of Vansant, Va., and Phyllis Winchester of Elizabethton, Tenn.; four sons, Harry “Dan” Winchester and wife Lillian of Liberty, S.C., Billy Wayne Winchester Sr. of Oakwood, Va., Bobby Lee Winchester Sr. and wife Juanita of Pounding Mill, Va., and Larry Wade Winchester and wife Rebah of Elizabethton, Tenn.; a special son-in-law, Fred A. Short Sr. of Elizabethton, Tenn.; and a daughter-in-law, Pam Winchester of Johnson City, Tenn. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Lottie Beulah Meadows Winchester will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 16, at Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel, Keen Mountain, Va., with Pastor Wayne Winchester and Evg. Mike Rife officiating. Interment will follow in the Meadows Cemetery on Baldwin Mountain, Vansant, Va. Great-grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as active pallbearers. Grandsons will be honorary pallbearers. A special thanks to Amedisys Hospice for their special care during her illness.
